Movement in Sound
Overview
As the Jaguar Dynamic Media Wall has no sound and is a visual experience only - we wanted to express the 'energy' that comes from the 'sound' of a Jaguar Car.
We had the pleasure of taking the XJR Supercharged 5.0L V8 car on the test track at Gaydon with top racing driver Nick Leason. As he put the car through its paces on several test laps including, the braking straights and various road surfaces and bends, we recorded the engine response.
We then took the sounds of the car and mapped it to an ultra high resolution particle animation that showed the movement of the sound in correlation to the movement of the car itself. Producing four different ‘focal lengths’ and finally edited into a seamless film lasting two and a half minutes.
